Can I visit the nursery?

We are very sorry, but we can no longer have personal callers to the nursery. All our sales are now by mail order or via our website.

What size are the cacti and succulents you have for sale?

The plant sizes vary according to species, rate of growth etc, but the general rule is that they are all ready for potting into 3 inch diameter pots.

How soon will I receive my plants?

Our all-the-year-round mail order service is good-natured and efficient, and orders are usually despatched within seven working days of receipt at the Nursery, but please allow up to 14 days. Please note that during cold spells, when the temperature at night is well below freezing, plants cannot be despatched because they may be damaged in transit. Orders will be sent out as soon as temperatures rise above freezing at night. We do apologize for any delays during these cold periods.

How will my plants be delivered?

Your plants will be sent to you ex-pots, with most of the soil removed from the roots, and carefully wrapped in newspaper. The plants travel happily this way, and postal charges are kept to a minimum. Each plant is individually wrapped, and is accompanied by a label. The number on the label refers to the plant number and name listed on our catalogue pages. On receiving your plants they should be potted up in any John Innes compost as described on our growing tips page.

Is cacti farming sustainable?

We grow our and cultivate cacti in a smart manner which minimizes the footprint on both water and Co2 emissions. Cacti in themselves, don´t need much water in comparison to broadleaf plants and flowers in general.

We partner with Netmorem2m.com for our growing stations. They’ve developed an m2m system within agriculture that minimizes water use and spurs cacti growth via smart lighting.

What are your postage costs?

Standard order:
Postage and packing is £3.95 per order within the UK and £6.95 per order within the EU.

Seeds only order:
If your order consists solely of seeds, then postage and packing is £2.95 per order within the UK and £3.95 per order within the EU.

What is your refund policy?

Customers are usually delighted with our goods and service, but if a mistake does occur please let us know, and we will do all we can to put things right for you, without any haggling or unpleasantness. You can choose either an exchange or replacement of the goods or a full refund of your money if you are unhappy with anything you have purchased.

Is online shopping safe?

To protect your payment information, our online shop uses a completely secure encryption system called 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which is currently the highest protection level available on the Internet. All of your sensitive information is encrypted before leaving your computer. When you go to the checkout page to complete an order you can check for yourself that the encryption is working by looking for the padlock icon in your web browser’s status bar at the bottom of your screen.

However if you would rather not shop online we are happy to take telephone orders. Just let us have your name, address and the code numbers of the items required and we’ll then get your order together, ready for despatch as soon as we receive your cheque. Alternatively we are happy to take your card details down and process the order straight away. We are of course also happy to accept orders received by post if you prefer.
